Set Default Android Apps

There are times when you go to open a link or RSS feed and there are several different applications to choose from when opening. Along with a pop-up window asking you to choose which application to use for a specific file type, there is a checkbox that allows you to set it as the default. Once set as the default, that specific file type won’t be played in any other application.
But if you downloaded a new app capable of reading RSS Feeds, you will need to change the Default application, otherwise clicking a feed will continue to open the previously selected application.
Tap on the Settings button either on the home screen menu or apps drawer.

Scroll down the settings list and select Applications.

Choose Manage Applications from the following list.
5 Manage Applications
In the applications page, you can choose running or downloaded apps. For this example, we’ll be choosing HTC Sense because it’s always set to default on any HTC phone.
6 Running Apps
In the app details page there is a Force Stop Bottom. Click it to make sure all instances are closed.

Further down the app info page is a button titled, Clear Defaults. Tap the Clear Defaults button.
8 Clear Defaults
Now when an action is taken that supports two different applications, you have a choice and you can change the default opening application.
9 Choose Launcher
